From Nairobi the journey takes a single night; the arrival lasts a lifetime. In Karbala the qafila walks the Bain al-Haramain between the two golden domes, offers ziyarat at the zareeh mubarak of Imam Husain AS and of Hazrat Abbas Alamdar AS, and in Najaf-e-Ashraf stands before Amir al-Mumineen Maulana Ali AS. Sabak, matam and niyaz are led by our khidmat team throughout.

Najaf-e-Ashraf
Rauza of Amirul Mumineen Maulana Ali AS
Amir al-Mumineen rests beneath the golden dome of Najaf, beside the Wadi al-Salam.
Kufa
Masjid-e-Kufa
The mosque where Maulana Ali AS was struck in prayer; the maqams of Muslim ibn Aqil and Hani ibn Urwa are beside it.
Karbala
Khaimagah & Tell al-Zainabiyya
The site of the camp of Ahl al-Bayt and the mound from which Sayyida Zainab watched the battlefield.

Itinerary
A typical safar
- Day 1
Nairobi → Najaf
Evening departure from JKIA via the Gulf. Arrival at Najaf, transfer to the Faiz-e-Husaini hostel.
- Day 2–5
Najaf-e-Ashraf
Ziyarat of Maulana Ali AS at dawn and dusk; Masjid-e-Kufa; Wadi al-Salam; daily sabak.
- Day 6–10
Karbala Mu'alla
Ziyarat of Imam Husain AS and Hazrat Abbas AS; Khaimagah; Tell al-Zainabiyya; majlis and matam with the qafila.
- Day 11
Karbala → Nairobi
Farewell ziyarat (wida) at Fajr, transfer to Najaf airport, arrival in Nairobi the following morning.
Dress
Rida for ladies and kurta-topi for gents in the haram; comfortable walking shoes for the Bain al-Haramain.
Currency
Iraqi dinar; US dollars are widely exchanged. Keep small notes for niyaz and sadaqa.
Health
Carry prescribed medicines with a doctor's letter. A khidmat medical volunteer travels with every qafila.
